How we use AI to support financial advice

When it comes to managing your finances, what most people want is simple: clear advice, time to talk things through, and confidence that nothing important is being missed.

That’s why having the right support behind the scenes matters. When routine tasks are handled smoothly, advisers can focus fully on listening, explaining and helping you make confident decisions.

At True Potential, we use intelligent tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to support your adviser, reduce unnecessary administration and create more time for meaningful conversations about your goals.

Why AI matters in financial advice

Financial advice today involves far more than selecting investments. Advisers must navigate complex regulation, keep detailed records, review large amounts of information and ensure everything is accurate, consistent and clearly explained. All of this is essential – but it can also take time away from what matters most: meaningful conversations about your goals.

This is where technology, including AI, can play an important supporting role. Used responsibly, AI can help with some of the administrative and checking tasks that sit behind the scenes of financial advice. It can help capture information more accurately, generate summaries and identify any necessary follow-up actions – reducing the time required for manual note-taking/documentation and making the overall process smoother for everyone involved.

What’s important is that AI does not replace people or decision‑making. Instead, it works quietly in the background, supporting advisers so they can spend more time listening, explaining and helping you make confident decisions about your financial future.

True Potential’s long‑standing tech‑first approach

At True Potential, technology has always played a central role in how advice is delivered. Our use of AI isn’t a sudden shift or a reaction to industry trends – it’s a natural extension of an approach we’ve followed for years.

All of our technology is built in‑house, rather than outsourced. This means we can develop, test and improve tools more quickly, maintain strong levels of security, and design technology specifically around the needs of wealth management and financial advice. As our systems are designed and controlled internally, AI can be embedded seamlessly into the advice process. This means it supports advisers at key points without disrupting conversations or relationships. It enhances what already works well, rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.

In practice, this means technology that directly supports the advice experience. From AI‑generated meeting summaries to secure, streamlined onboarding, our tools help reduce administrative work and improve accuracy. That allows advisers to spend more time focused on delivering advice – so you benefit from a faster, smoother and more personal experience.

How we use intelligent technology to improve your experience

At True Potential, our use of AI has evolved steadily over time, with a clear focus on improving service, clarity and ease of use for you. Rather than a single moment of change, we have introduced a series of intelligent enhancements that support smoother interactions and a better overall experience.

Smarter support through Live Chat
Since December 2023, our Live Chat service has used intelligent Intent Recognition to better understand the reason for your enquiry and guide them to the right outcome more quickly.

  • Account access and login‑related queries are recognised automatically and supported through guided recovery steps.
  • From June 2024, withdrawal‑related requests are identified and routed into the correct journey, helping streamline the process and reduce delays.
  • From October 2024, beneficiary‑related questions are recognised and you can be directed straight to the appropriate area to view or update your details.

These smart features help remove friction from everyday interactions, making it easier to get the right support without unnecessary repetition.

Clearer, more personalised account information

In July 2024, we introduced the Personalised Account Summary, an intelligent feature that provides a tailored overview of your account.

What’s in your Personal Summary?

  • An insight into the value of your investments
  • The key performance points from the Portfolios you’re invested in
  • The important themes currently affecting markets
  • Any outstanding actions you need to take

The summary is available in an easy‑to‑consume audio format across web, mobile and in‑car experiences, allowing you to stay informed in a way that fits naturally into everyday life.

Technology that supports people, not replaces them

Alongside these client‑facing features, our advisers and service teams also use intelligent systems behind the scenes to reduce administration, access information more efficiently and respond more quickly to your needs.

This means advisers can spend more time focused on understanding individual circumstances and providing high‑quality, personal advice. Importantly, all advice and decisions remain with qualified professionals. Intelligent technology is used to support service quality and consistency, operating quietly in the background under strong controls, security and oversight.

Keeping advice human, secure and responsible

While technology plays a supporting role, financial advice at True Potential remains firmly human‑led. Your adviser stays central to every recommendation and is always on hand to guide you through decisions based on your individual circumstances.

Strong controls, security measures and ongoing oversight sit behind how our technology is used. We’re also transparent about its role in the advice process, so you can feel assured that AI is applied responsibly and always in your best interests. That means you can feel confident that innovation is used in a way that supports you and your long‑term goals.
